You had a choice… and you chose us!
First, allow us to thank you for giving our company the opportunity to serve you and your tree service needs. A+ Tree & Crane is a locally owned and operated company that has been in business since 1996. Please take a moment to review the terms below. Although we make every precaution to ensure jobs are done as seamlessly as possible, it is necessary for both your protection and ours to go over some important items that may arise during the completion of your job, as well as answer any questions that you may have prior to, during, or after your tree work. Feel free to contact our company with any concerns or questions related to the terms below:
Terms and Conditions of Tree Service Contract
Insurance: If you would like (free of charge) we can have our insurance companies provide you via email a certificate of insurance. Our coverage includes $1,000,000 in General Liability Insurance to cover your home and property. We also include $1,000,000 in Worker’s Compensation Insurance so that if one of our employees gets hurt while on your property, their lawyers don’t take your house and bank accounts for payments. Please ask our competitors to do the same to protect YOU. Also, make sure our competitors do not hand you a certificate. IT must COME DIRECTLY FROM THE INSURANCE COMPANY. IT IS ILLEGAL FOR THEM TO HAND YOU ONE. We do send a “for bidding purposes” certificate for you to review to see our coverage.
Quote validation: Our quotes are valid for thirty days from time of dated quote. We understand that sometimes prior approval from an outside source (ex: HOA) on the homeowner’s or businesses end are required and may go beyond the thirty days. In this event, we usually still honor the quote if the structure of the trees has not changed to affect the scope of work. ***In the event of bad weather or storms estimates are Null & Void*** Storms, and bad weather sometimes affect structures of trees, and this can affect the scope of work if the trees have been compromised.
What to expect on your scheduled estimate date: Our estimators do approximately 20 free estimates a day and go from early morning until dark. Due to the number of estimates and the specific scope of work each customer requests it is hard to say how long each estimate will take so we are not able to narrow down a specific time that your estimator will arrive. You will receive an automated alert when the estimator is en route to your home. Our office staff will try to get as much information from you as possible on the scope of work you would like estimated and may even ask that you mark the trees. We request this information so that our estimators can still perform the estimate if you are not at home when they arrive. We know our customers’ time is valuable and we do not want you to sit at home all day waiting on an estimator to arrive. We email all estimates and follow up with calls from our office. If you do not have an email, we will mail you a hard copy of the estimate or review it over the phone with you.
Estimate Fees: A+ Tree & Crane Services proudly provides around 20-25 free estimates a day per estimator. Often homeowners change their minds after the initial estimate and want to remove or add things to the initial estimate. When possible, A+ Tree & Crane Services will gladly make these changes at no additional cost. However, in many cases, the changes may require a return trip by an estimator. A+ Tree & Crane Services charges a $50 return estimate fee due at the time of scheduling the second estimate. If you choose our company for your tree service needs, that $50 fee will be deducted from your final invoice total, therefore, resulting in no charge. If you do not choose to use our company, the $50 is nonrefundable.
What to expect on the scheduled work date: Work crews will arrive at the job site on the scheduled day, and you will receive an automated alert when the crew is traveling to you from their last job. Although we can try, when possible, to give you an estimated time, many things affect our work when in the field that the office staff/schedulers may not be aware of. A+ Tree & Crane Services shall attempt to meet all scheduled dates. Please understand that due to delays from inclement weather or other causes beyond our control sometimes rescheduling is required. Every customer is important to us, but during major storms and severe weather, our company goes into emergency mode and emergency tree situations are usually handled first. In some instances, after rainfall the following day, the ground may still be too wet to perform the scope of work without causing yard damage, and jobs are sometimes rescheduled.
Workmanship: All work will be performed in a professional manner by experienced personnel outfitted with the appropriate tools and equipment to complete the job properly. Unless otherwise indicated within your estimate, A+ Tree & Crane Services will always remove wood, brush, and debris incidental to the work except for stump chips (see below).
Stump Grinding: In the process of stump grinding, the stumps are ground about 4 inches below ground level. In some instances, the stumps cannot be ground that deep or cannot be ground at all (ex: located too close to a home, a fence, or other trees or utilities are too close by). Stump chips are left behind, filling the hole and the surrounding area, leaving a possible mound of chips depending on the size of the stump. The chips can be completely removed for an additional fee. However, please keep in mind that if the chips are removed, you will be left with a hole that the homeowner is responsible for filling in.
Stump grinding does not eliminate the complete stump or roots below what has been ground. These die off over time. Surface and subsurface roots beyond the stump are not ground or removed unless specified in the quote. If stumps were ground properly at the time of service, and a return call is requested to grind stumps further (due to the homeowner, contractors or landscapers digging dirt below the original ground level at the time of stump grinding exposing the stump further below the 4” level of it being ground) there is an additional fee to return and grind stumps further than the initial scope of work performed.
Stump removal: This process costs much more and involves marking property for utilities and usually involves an excavator to dig the stump completely out of the ground. The homeowner will be responsible for filling in the hole unless otherwise specified in the quote.
Neighbor permission: In some cases, it may be necessary for our company to utilize a neighbor’s property. Your estimate will notify you if that is necessary. In the case that we do need to access your neighbor’s property, it will be the homeowner’s responsibility to obtain such permission and to provide it to our company prior to the work being done. We can send a neighbor permission form to you if needed.
Utilities: When necessary we will have utilities marked, however, several things are not covered by that service and the responsibility will fall to the homeowner unless the system(s) are adequately and accurately mapped by the authorizing party and a copy is presented before the work is performed. The estimator or office staff will notify you if there is such a need. A+ Tree & Crane is not responsible for any damages occurring to any unmarked irrigation, sprinkler systems, invisible fencing, communication lines, yard lighting, septic lines, and systems or other unmarked items.
Driveways/Sidewalks/Landscapes: A+ Tree & Crane Services takes every precaution with the use of heavy equipment when performing the scope of work to minimize any damage to driveways, sidewalks, and yards. In the event that our equipment causes settling, cracking, or other damage to driveways, sidewalks or landscaping, then repairs are not included in the contract price. A+ Tree & Crane Services is not responsible for driveway/sidewalk cracks or yard damage due to the use of heavy equipment for the project. Depending on the scope of work there are always possibilities that surrounding plants, shrubbery, trees, and yards may receive some damage with the equipment and tree service removal or trimming process.
Other Yard Décor: The homeowner is responsible for moving anything that is in the path of our scheduled work; some examples would be borders, lighting, plants, path stones, decorative rocks, etc. We will not be held responsible for damage to any items that are not moved.
Payment: Except for a return estimate fee (which is collected at the time of scheduling) all payments are due at the time of job completion unless agreed upon at the time of negotiating the contract. Late fees will apply if the invoice is not paid within the agreed-upon time frame. You may pay by cash to the workers on-site, by check to the workers on-site, by mailing a check in to our office, or by credit card (our office staff can process that for you over the phone) Please note that there is a 3% fee added to all credit card payments.
Media Release: A+ Tree & Crane Services occasionally takes pictures/videos for promotional purposes and/or company records. A+ Tree & Crane Services reserves the right to use, publish, and reproduce pictures as needed. In addition, the authorizing party waives the right to receive any payment from A+ Tree & Crane Services for such usage.
We look forward to working with you for your tree service needs, and thank you for your business.
